Welcome to the fifth episode of the Washing Up Paper Plates Podcast.
After a brief taste of luxury in Paris, Barry is back on the bike and pedalling like the clappers south towards Dijon and Lyon. He even has a new tent that he can sit up in. What is the weather like? Has he found religion? Where is he now?
Q: Why is it called Washing Up Paper Plates?
A: This entire bicycle touring trip is being done on a small budget. Many years ago I backpacked through Croatia on a similarly small budget and ended up washing up paper plates to use them the next day. This desperate, resourceful act encapsulates the philosophy of this trip perfectly.
